On a quiet afternoon in West Brighton Houses, one knock at a door saved a woman's life. Feeling trapped in despair and loneliness, she was contemplating giving up completely. But that knock changed everything. Volunteers from Urban Hope NYC reached out with prayer, compassion, and genuine care. That moment became her lifeline—a profound reminder that she was seen, valued, and loved by God.
Now imagine a young girl in Brooklyn, invisible and lost in the crowd, desperately believing that no one cares. But everything shifted when a teenager from a visiting youth group paused to speak words of life and pray specifically for her. Tears filled the girl's eyes as hope flooded her heart, realizing for the first time that God had an incredible plan for her life. She felt special, valued, and loved because one young volunteer took action.

Urban Hope NYC Short Term Missions are week-long, purpose-driven experiences that will change your life—and the life of a child—forever. Each trip includes evangelism training, intentional prayer for the city, community outreach, and large-scale events, all based in the heart of Staten Island—New York City’s most beautiful borough.
You or your team will serve and love our neighbors throughout the week. STM trips are scheduled year-round to align with impactful events and maximize your outreach where it's needed most.

Here, ministry isn’t theoretical. It’s face-to-face. Street-by-street. Heart-to-heart.From the moment your feet hit the ground, you’ll be equipped with evangelism training, daily citywide prayer walks, and hands-on outreach that places you shoulder-to-shoulder with our local team—loving neighbors, serving children, and proclaiming the hope of Jesus in some of New York City’s most underserved neighborhoods.What You’ll Do:Teach children to read and pray in our public school partnershipsServe meals, mentor youth, and help run block parties and basketball tournamentsJoin our Summer Streets Safe Zones, reclaiming high-crime areas with peace, prayer, and playEngage in powerful worship nights, debriefs, and citywide evangelistic eventsWalk through the streets of Staten Island and pray revival into every cornerWhat You'll Experience:You’ll see joy in a child’s eyes as they learn their first Bible verse.
