Here, in the streets of Staten Island—the most forgotten borough of the world’s most influential city—you’ll gain real ministry experience and learn how to bring light to the darkest places.

​

Lead youth in at-risk neighborhoods through weekly mentorship, prayer, and discipleship. Plan and execute large-scale events—block parties, basketball tournaments, prayer rallies, and VBS-style Summer Streets safe zones. Serve in NYC public schools, helping kids learn to read while showing them they’re deeply loved.

​

Evangelize in public spaces, on street corners, and through door-to-door outreach. Support our after-school clubs and Ambassadors of Peace programs. Be trained in logistics, media, prayer ministry, stage management, and event coordination. Work closely with our staff, pastors, and mission partners from around the world.

You’ll uncover your calling, break off fear, and learn to walk in your God-given identity. Discover who you are—and whose you are.

Learn how to lead teams, communicate vision, and love with both boldness and compassion. We don’t just hand you tasks—we hand you responsibility.

You’ll learn to share the Gospel in real time—with kids, teens, families, strangers, and skeptics. From one-on-one moments to stage ministry, you’ll be equipped to speak truth in love.

​

Understand the systems of poverty, trauma, and violence that affect inner-city communities—and how the Church is called to be the answer. You won’t just study it. You’ll live it.

​

We will pour into you daily—spiritually, emotionally, and practically. And then you’ll do the same for others. You’ll walk alongside kids and teens and become a steady, godly presence in their lives.

1 in 3 kids in NYC lives below the poverty line. Staten Island experienced a 129% increase in youth violence in one year. Over 60% of public school students are reading below grade level. Only 2% of urban teens are connected to a local church.

​

You will be the hands and feet of Jesus in these statistics. And you’ll never be the same again.

The Urban Hope NYC Internship lasts 10 months and takes place in Staten Island, NYC. Housing is provided, ministry training is included, and faith is required.
